David Matlock and Patrick Thompson are more than business partners, they’re family. This father/son-in-law duo serves the San Antonio area by providing a care and craft to home building that larger companies can’t compete with.

Although he began his career path as a CPA, David spent the last 25+ years in the home building industry. David has held a variety of executive positions with 3 of the largest well-established homebuilding companies in the nation. During that time, he developed strong relationships, gained a wealth of knowledge and built a reputation of excellence among contractors across the San Antonio area. 

Patrick had a successful 11-year career with NuStar Energy shortly after college, but knew he couldn’t pass up building a family-focused company with David when the opportunity arose. David’s industry background coupled with Patrick’s experience as a Real Estate Broker and his natural entrepreneurship skills, led the two to open Joseph Creek Homes in 2021.

Their greatest joy comes from helping others achieve the dream of owning a home they love. They understand that a home is a long-term investment and see it as their responsibility to educate home buyers and craft homes that will stand the test of time. Home building isn’t just their job, it’s their calling.
